Well, I've called about a week now, no wind at all and 20 degree temps.
Have had them return howls, but no takers (at least that I've seen.)
BUT, I have my stepson and sometimes some of his teenage friends
with me so it could be the antsy pantsy. They just can't seem to stay still.
The good thing is they find out that there is a 4:00 in the morning and I only give them 5 minutes after the horn blows to get in the truck before I
leave. At first they would stay up all night and play.....whatever they play, and couldn't get up so it's getting better.

Try using a couple of different calls and a visual attractor. That or coat the boys in alpo with gravy.

Thanks, adksasquatch, I slathered the boys with alpo and gravy, then dressed them in rabbit skin coats. still no luck, but it was fun!!!!
(for me anyway). Maken memories here!
PS: ifen you tell anyone else about this secret hunten lure, tell them to have a pickup soes you can haul the boys in the bed, they sure smell up the interior of an SUV!

Might try a decoy? We started using them, commercial and homemade and have had some good success.

Anyone ever take a dog with them as a visual attractant?

I am looking for a good spot to try calling in a dingo, maybe in a few months- they are having pups atm so should get a few eneducated ones to learn on.

What does the coyote derby involve?

Gramps used a decoy dog for wolves and Ive heard of it for yotes but Ive never tried it. With my lifestyle a dog would be a bigger pain right now then the yote's,lol.

BWM- were not allowed to use visual attractors in Pa. pet not pet flassying things.... nothing. it sucks but you gottta do what you gotta do

blackdog- idk about everywhere else but the local ones around ehre are usually run with a top prize of the most coyotes brought in, biggest and the smallest yote. aroudn here their usually run with yote dogs but sometimes there sa guy that calls all his in. theres a set time in which they have to get the yotes and them get them back. kinda like a fishing tourny only with coyotes.

Thanks Bigmoo. Like what we do over here with feral pigs. Go out and have a numbers/weigh up at the end of the weekend.
Id like to see the staghounds and yote dogs voer there, the staghound type dogs are like what we run over here on various things
Be a good weekend to see
