I guess the mink was wanting a meal and the muskrat wasn't. That's a pretty sweet catch. Congrats!

Yes, but that would be cheating now, wouldn't it.

Now mistyk, it is fine to "wonder" about what might or might not be possible in what you see in a photo. I would see no reason for someone to publish such on this Forum and it be "staged"....that would be their loss. So this goes back to one of my favorite sayings and maybe Ken C will read it and not take offense to what you implied. Here goes:

It doesn't matter if others don't believe you as long as you know you are telling the truth.

Misty I may be only 51 but the only person I've ever seen cheated by me was me. Don't ever cheat and you will feel better for it. Why would anyone want people to think better of them because they cheated :?:

i started trapping this year and my first catch was a mink and a small muskrat in the same 110 together just like in the picture. my guess is the mink had already caught it. it was a blind set in a feeder stream running in to a beaver pond. that night we had recieved our first snow fall, (Vermont),

There you go Swamp Puppy...you can only do something for the FIRST TIME once and it sounds like you did a good'un. I highly recommend that outdoors participants to keep journals...catches/weather/sex of catch/weight of catch/type of set and trapping equipment used. At first it doesn't amount to much, but over a period of time it worth the time and effort. Just a suggestion.

Swamp Rat, I have to agree with you on that one, as I always kept a journal about what I caught, but lately have started elaborating more, just to see if I can see any patterns, and hopefully use it to make me a better trapper. I will have to keep trying for the double on mink and rat, not something I have ever gotten, so something else to look forward too!
