20 degrees this morning with snow on the ground. We had some lake affect snow showers move through yesterday afternoon and a couple of bans of snow were quite heavy.

17 degrees here..supposed to get a little snow late tonight..this is the last go for the gun hunters..muzzle loader season is in till sunday...

Today is the last day of rifle season for deer. I still have an unfilled doe tag. Just 21 degrees this morning and calling for snow later on today.

It was a good weekend. I went out with the rifle on Saturday looking to fill my doe tag, I had a chance at one but missed as it was running 40 miles an hour through a field (at least it seemed to be running that fast). But, I spent more time scouting for fisher and bobcat with those seasons starting next Saturday. I also found a beaver dam with lots of fresh cuttings.





And with the snow moving through, that finally seemed to get the mink moving as I caught my first one of the season yesterday.

Another cold one this morning, only 27 and they are calling for a chance of snow all week long.

great looking spots Trick,,i bet it wont be long you will be connecting with some more fur.....not a bad day here ..got up to 53 degrees today..a cold front is bearing down on us..high tomorrow is only getting in the mid 30's....I have to go to a chicken ranch tomorrow some varmit is stealing the hens...

think I got the chicken killer narrowed down to a couple of suspects ....looks like coons have been coming through once in awhile..but my main suspects are weasels ....the dead chickens were laying where they were killed. very little meat consumed .their throats were tore open with most of the blood consumed.i seen around the building several piles of junk with small holes about the size of a baseball.then there was the distinct smell of a musky weasel scent..i sat 4 live traps for the coons and 18 rat traps.rat traps as in mouse trap style for the weasels ...we will see tomorrow...

We had a good 4 inches of snow that fell yesterday. Calling for more snow over the next couple of days. only 8 degrees this morning.

Not much more satisfying than removing feral cats from the environment. Had those weasels turned white? Always enjoy watching those little predators; stone cold killers that they are.

I try to get all the feral cats out of the picture I can. weasels are still gun metal grey..two years ago I trapped a quail farm for the local bird hunters. they lost 104 quail in 8 nights..those weasels thought they were in heaven.and I hope that's where they ended up when I was done with them...

Wow Chief, that chicken ranch must be a predator buffet!

We had 8 inches of snow fall from the previous night into yesterday morning. It was a good thing I already had the plow mounted on the ATV. It's just cold this morning sitting at 15 degrees.

the weather forecast was for high wind tomorrow so I went back to the chicken ranch this afternoon...got set up and blew three times playing the dying rabbit blues...this popped out of a fence row 310 yards out the Remington 700 did the rest....
