I predicted to people on FB back in November that the North Dakota oil pipeline protest would end like this, and gee whiz, I was right. A lot of nice quality stuff that supporters donated last fall got turned to crap in the months that followed. I heard that there is (or was) over a hundred abandoned vehicles on the camping grounds. The state of ND should have someone scrap these to recover a tiny bit of money that the state and county spent during the stand off. Maybe the protesters, especially those from warm climates, should have read up on Napoleon, the Grand Army, and the 1812/13 Russian winter...

I saw that on the news yesterday. Those idiots who said they were protecting the environment did more damage to it than what the pipeline will ever do.

I hope the contractors get paid well for literally picking up these people's s***. Unfortunately, the taxpayers in ND have gotten saddled for the bill.

Maybe they can tack on a very small fee to the oil companies extraction royalties. In the world we now live in, at least in the civilized Western world, if a region has new oil to be extracted, its going to attract organized sustained protests...

It always amazes me how some see these people as noble but never look at their mess.
