Been a short season. 3 1/2 weeks for land animals this year. did not to bad for what I had out. Today was 4 marten and one mink and one nice cherry red fox plus another wolf. Still have one wolf set going with a couple fox sets and 2 marten boxes. The wolf I got today ,big male walked 5 miles down the road before he entered my wolf set. Next trip next week will be the end for this year. I have pics but only on my phone so cannot show till I learn how to figure things out.

Sad to hear it wolf. I hate shutting down. Always leaves a hollow feeling in the gut.

No this is normal for us here. 6 weeks of land animals but this year only 3 weeks. Weather plays a big factor for my self and what I harvest. Because of the kill traps and snares I cannot set till things will freeze when caught. This year has been up and down plus late start. Old man winter has showed his face here and temps are -20 plus lots of snow all of a sudden. Animals will start to slow down as usual. With market conditions as forecasted why would one want to carry on. My male to female ratio on marten is 3 to 1. Good question. By mid January fur will reverse its self and be over prime and less value. So say what it is but time to say enough for this year and let them run for another year when we will need bigger boards :)
