I have never pre-baited my dirtholes before. My brother wants to try it this year. Do any of you pre-bait or pre-lure ? Do you just use bait, or just urine, or lure , or a combination ? He is targeting coyotes. Thanks .

Sorry doc I have never pre baited. I always thought that doing so would attract all the grinners from a large radius lol

I pre bait for wolves and some times for marten. Once they get a free meal they return for more, then I have a surprise for them. I cant see what it would hurt for yotes. Why not try pre baiting some holes and leave the others alone till you start trapping. Then you can see the results for yourself and make your own opinion.

doc
I haven't really ever pre-baited so to speak. I do test my homemade baits and lures to see what kind of response I get, but to go out and pre-bait a whole line? No I haven't. If they guy has the time I can't see what it would hurt though.

I pre-baited in the past Doc. When I purchased my first trail camera I decided to pre bait in October and got a pic of a grey fox that phototbucket won't let me post for some reason....

3 weeks later, I caught a grey fox in that exact location.
