The catch pole is a 42" long pole, it is made from sunlight resistant, Extra Heavy Duty PVC that will not deteriorate in sunlight or crack in freezing conditions. It has 1/8 th inch coated galvanized steel aircraft cable. A positive lock and easy release.

I have used this style for years and removed thousands of animals and never had one break.
I have had coyotes and big dogs chew on cable and scar it up but the pole itself has never broke. I have tried to break them before, unless you beat it against a tree or the ground is the only way I could see one breaking.

Did you contact the person you got it from. They probably would have replaced it or given your money back.
