Post subject:  Beaver/coon/ground squirrel problem

So my grandparents have 6 gravel pits all within a square mmile of each other and are having beaver problems. One day the will be at this pond and the next day at that pond. I need some advice on how to catch the critter. Also i dont have my wildlife control license so i cant really do much. They also are having ground squirrel holes pop up out of nowhere. Any advice would be great.

Look into getting your license to do animal damage control. It wasn't hard to get here in maine, don't know about your state.

Hey country, G.squirrels are great target practice with a pellet gun, used to love belly crawlin up to get a good shot. I'd do it on the road bank &
git some weird looks from people drivin by...

Chech with your wildlfie control office, you might not need a lic. to trap an animal on your property that's causeing damage. Then you just got to get gramps to ride along with you. Here the landowner can appoint a trustee to help! Might be a way around the lic. problem! Also damage control work has many more options then recreational trapping. Here trappers can't use snares in certain county's, but control operators can! Good luck. TS

We have plenty of members on WAT that live in Illinois and know the law quite well, maybe they will comment on your situation.
