Had a call from an HOA last Monday in Destin Fl. where I work my main job.
They wanted to know if I would catch a fox on their property.
This is very convenient as there is no mileage involved, I'm there all day anyway, etc.
I went out to the subdivision, talked to grounds and security supervisor that called me.
All good, found the fox tracks where they have seen him (for the past year). Some of the homeowners were getting nervous about him coming around the homes.
There is also a marsh area and lots of coon trails and tracks in the sand.
I gave them a low price of $200 to catch the fox. Using cage traps for safety purposes.
He called me back the next day with a few questions from the HOA president.
How long will you keep the traps out? What will you do with the raccoons I catch?
I told them about 2 weeks, The traps would be out of sight and camoflauged. I'd remove the coons also if that is what they wanted... and it was.
Price was still firm. All good and will get back with me next day.
I haven't heard back from them.
I am guessing they are shopping around for another nuisance trapper that will do it cheaper.
They won't find one in this area and my price was low because of no travel and little time involved.
I've about had it with home owner associations. Are they all stupid?

yes they are but their money is still green try breaking the price down for them set up fee and animal fee let them know that the set up fee is just to cover initial time out out on the job and bait costs ive found that a lot of corperations will run from a flat fee even if the flat fee is cheeper than the broken down fee if its a realy big job with good potentia on the money end just charge a head fee with no set up but have them on contract befor dropping a single trap good luck

Send the association a fact sheet on the dangers of wild animals around. Then post it on thier board so all the residents can see it. Maybe concerned citizens will put pressure on the president to do the right thing.
