My sons and I will be running about 30 traps for cats all along the ridges here in NE PA.

I'll be trapping cat and fisher right around home. What county are you trapping in ski? I'm guessing up north somewhere. You don't have to give out your exact location for obvious reasons!

I will be trying for fisher around my house. I know where people have been seeing some.
I don't think I will make it anywhere for cats though.

Your absolutely right ski! If the are fishers are around I'm sure the cats are too.

The cats are there as I had a pair check out a beaver set last spring. In 2D, I am not allowed to trap for cats though. I might get to head to an open unit for cats but am not sure yet.
I ran into some fresh fishers tracks while hunting so I am getting high hopes for the season.
Good luck!

if i had enough vacation days from work i would have. im lucky i dont have to work christmas like im scheduled to. we run 365 days a year unless there is a lay off or a plant shutdown. lucky for me they doin a plant shut down starting thurday and startin back up on tuesday. and the way my off days fall i get the whole week, thursday to thursday off. but as far as vacation goes i get 36 hours a year till further notice  and seen as we run 12 hour shifts you can only use 24 of it. so 2 days a year vacation for me. not enough to go to the mountains for a week

I must admit, that little of vacation time really sucks, but at least you have employment while there are many who don't. I thought you had said some time back that you were concerned that your position may be done away with....it must have worked itself out.

Well ski, did you at least have a good time? I didn't catch anything either, had a coyote walk within 10 yards of one of my sets but never went toward it :? . Oh well, there is still 2 more weeks of cat season.
