I just read an article in FFG about baiting mink with skrat meat. Can you do this with any type of meat? In an earlier post it was mentioned to use black field tile to trap mink, do you bait them when you do this? Any help would be apprciated. I have never trapped a mink and this year's season is quickly coming to an end. Thanks

muskrat and rabbit are the two best meat baits for mink from what i have read and seen, Unless you can figure a way to keep a live mouse in there. And yes, you bait the feild tiles. You don;t want to age the meat for mink, put 'er right in there fresh. A little mink lure smeared in the tile sweetens the deal. Good luck!

Fresh bait is best for mink.
