Much stronger spring. Not a huge difference in price, so I always buy magnums.

Thanks for all the replys. Sounds like I opened a can of worms with this thread. I think I will try some Dukes and some Bridgers. I dont think I will buy any Victors due to the OUTRAGEOUS price. Since I do live in a somewhat populated area, theft will probably be at least a small factor, I'm sure. For that reason I dont want to invest more than I need, to get the job done.
I am going to run this line just as a hobby. I work full time as a mechanic for a popular shipping company. I can afford the most expensive traps but dont want to pay for them just to let some thief take them and enjoy them for years to come.
I have learned from buying all kinds of sporting equipment that you dont always get what you pay for. Years ago it was that way but today to it is not that way. I wish it were. I have shopped around for lots of things, sometimes the most expensive things ARE the best and sometimes a middle of the road priced item is the best.
smittytrapmods, thanks for the advice on trap size. I dont think I will buy any #1 coils. It makes perfect sense about the bigger trap drowning the catch quicker. Think I will get more #1 1/2 coils, more verastile on coon which in my area are apt to get in any kind of set, for any kind of critter. We have LOTS of coon. It looks like I am getting permission on some areas that may hold a good population of fox, so the 1 1/2's will do double duty. I am gonna post another topic on long spring size. hope everyone responds. What a friendly site!
