I have a half dozen of the #5 long springs. None modified except for 5' of heavy chain. Real bear to set. Don't have a modern setter so use 2 stout sticks tied together when I'm setting. Great for those educated beaver. Don't know about Pit Pans, never used them.

:!: man that too bad,jaw spread issue? the way are law reads : size#3 or larger on land must be offset/ water ya can whatever. been thinking on doing a clint locklear on them,ya know outside lam. extend the dog, makes a 9 inch jawspread stead of 7&1/4 they have now.

Man, I envy you guys. Can't even use footholds here in MA. In WV, you can, but in MA, you're just out of luck. I'm hoping to get better at catching Beaver in Boxes up here, only because the suitcase traps cost too much. But duke sure is putting out some pretty pieces of steel as of late, haven't they?
