Well not catching a thing in dirt holes so wanted to set a urine post, just wanting some help. The farm I am trapping has got 2 have fox on it but I just cant connect.I dont see any sign but it is very rocky soil or fields so tracks are out. I have lived close to this place my entire life and it has to have critters. What is the point of a urine post do they rub on it or do they just p here?thanks Donnie & Ty

Scent posts act as territorial boundrys for many critters. Boundries overlap. So, if you put in a scent post where the animal in question has not been marking their territory, they think another critter has moved in and are now claiming part of their territory. So you make one and the residents will come and use it as well and hopefully you will snag them.

One set I like to do is use a Burned stick. Cut a small 1" diameter branch about 18" long and burn it until it's good and charred. Then take it out the fire, dunk it in some water, and hammer it into the ground at your set location. Squirt a little urine half way up on it and set your trap below and out 4" for fox, 8"f or yotes.
