I caught my first weasel last night in a 110 set in front of an abandoned muskrat tunnel. He is very small, maybe 6" nose to butt and as big around as a quarter. Is this a baby or what? and How do you skin/ flesh them?

No, not a baby. They are called "LESSER" weasel and that's about all the bigger they get. Skin as you would a mink. You can use a wooden yardstick cut to 12" and slightly tapered at the nose and along the sides the whole length.

Good job on your first weasel kmp,let me ask you were you targeting the things or something else.Reason im asking is I trap an old beaver dam in a flood control lake and have alot of muskrat holes three feet up on the bank.We do have weasel in wv but I dont know how many.I am really wanting a mink but weasel would be cool 2.I hear that mink trapping is a real waiting game and with all the holes I have I would need alot more traps.Well maybe the luck will hit tonight I hope :?

I was trying for a mink. I actually had a muskrat in the trap last week and a squirrel on Monday. the tunnell is collapsed about 10' up and I just thought it looked good. No mink as of yet though.
