 Post subject: varmit problem

i have a mink or weasel geting in my chicken pens and killing them but there not bothering my free range fowl because of the free range fowl im trying to use a live trap my problems is i dont know any tricks of the trade if anyone has any advice i would love to hear it thanks

Check out this article-- Catching Weasels. If weasels are your problem you could build a couple of weasel boxes... use one or two #1 or #1-1/2 traps inside the box, or even the Victor Rat Traps that they sell at the hardware store would work. Having the traps in the box should keep your free rangers free from the danger of traps, just make sure the lid of the box is fastened securely. Bait the box with bloody chicken parts if possible.

Wow, sounds like the work of a weasel. I've read t hey are probably the most vicious and gruesome killers for that size. I think you can take it anytime for animal damages.
