me and my father drive our atv's just scouting around on old logging road and fire roads in a place called Stanley we always put on 80+ km a trip and we found a few beaver huts and places were they clogged culverts going under the road. we were planning on waiting until after deer season because there is a lot of " stupid " people acting a fool down there that time of year and we didn't want our traps stolen. well before deer season was over we decided to go make sure they were still there (this was 3 weeks ago) and there was no fresh sign?? it looked like someone had trapped them. there were only the same 2 places.
now these roads are lined up and some of the same creeks run through different roads. 2 days ago we decided to go have one last look and found a place that had no beaver sign three weeks ago had the culvert completely clogged( like 6 feet around!) had a darn nd a feed bed built and ready and tracks goin everywhere. we set out a couple 330's and are hoping its the same big one from upstream in the other damned spot. anyways he's done a lot of work in the last few weeks and i hope to get him before he washes the road out witch is already happening. we also set a 330 in a narrow spot going down the stream because we have seen some sign of otter. that would be nice. wish me luck
