An additional 1.5 million ranch mink to an already devalued fur market can only spell doom for the wild fur market.

I sold a couple female wild mink for $27.00 just two years ago. According to the latest Fur-Fish-Game fur market report, female wild mink may only average $3.00 to $5.00 and males $5.00 to $7.00.

I like how NAFA painted a rosey picture in the opening paragraph. But, in reality, it's like putting chocolate icing on a pile of poop and saying look how good this is!

... There you have it in a nut shell. Nafa Propaganda. Story I'm hearing is ranch mink will cost the producer more this year then in past to raise and less then what they would make. As suspected Nafa is turning into a ranch fur business. Already have some figures as to output from ranch mink which is down according to numbers through the summer but yet they are predicting higher numbers. Newer markets from over seas. Take the plunge as I did and boycott Nafa all together. Was a hard pill to swallow and lost some money in certain species but promoted a company which has long been in the fur industry. Wild fur, that's all I catch and will only send to a wild fur outlet.

Wolf, would you let the rest of the forum know where you send your hides as I'm betting most don't know.
