Wow.............that is a hog!!!!! I have never seen a mink that pudgy. I doubt they make a mink board to fit his mass. :--o :--D Nice catch!! Makes that 160 look small.

WoW!! They do grow 'em big sometimes don't they!! Might need to find some other critter board to put that one on. I caught this one back in 2000. I wasn't putting mink up that year so I didn't weigh it and get a measurement of the length. Its been one of the only mink that wasn't dead in a 110 although he wasn't doing much except breathing. I would think probably a fraction of one percent catching a wild mink as big as yours there...

Got another large male this morning. Another blind set. Not as big as the last but still nice. Question for you mink guys, how many mink usually reside in a section of a drainage? I have yet to take any females so I'm not concerned yet about population, but rather wasting time if they are all trapped out? I believe they are much more easily targeted with blind sets this time of year due to breeding and running around. Any thoughts?

I don't know, I suppose it depends on several factors. How big is this drainage and how good the food sources? Is it between other larger drainages where it might be a cross over area between several others? How many other places do you have to trap? Back probably has a lot more ideas and data than I do. Who knows, keep a 160 blind set out and you still might pick up one of your $5 grinners before their fur goes bad
