Yesterday was a cold one to be on stand for the last day of archery season. It was only 13 degrees in the morning and the warmest part of the day it only made it to 27. Despite the cold I saw 3 bucks, 8 doe, a flock of 4 hen turkey, 2 ruffed grouse and 2 grey squirrel which all of the deer and turkey were out of bow range.

It's warmer this morning at 24 degrees and is supposed to get into the 40's. Not calling for much warmer weather than that over the next week.

Have a great day everyone. :D

Today is the first day of rifle bear season here in PA. My plan was to hunt for bear today but it's pouring rain and 34 degrees right now. Maybe a little later....

Have a great day everyone. :D

We ended up with about 2.5 inches of rain here yesterday. That rain has now changed over to snow.

Have a great day everyone. :D

30 degrees here this morning with about an inch of snow on the ground.

Mink and muskrat season started over the weekend and I got some bottom edge sets in some slack water where an old beaver pond was. All the other streams were too high from the big rain on Saturday.

Have a great day everyone. :D

I pulled my rats sets due to the fact I think I got all the rats and the water level in the pond rose a foot or more...still picking up a coon or two most nights in the barn...

I have empty traps so far. I hope to get more sets out after work on Wednesday. Supposed to stay dry for most of the week with warmer temperatures today.

Have a great day everyone. :D

Only 22 degrees this morning. I'm heading out to check the few traps I have set and set a few more. I won't be doing any land trapping yet since rifle deer season begins on Monday. So, for now I'm sticking with mink and muskrat. Both of which seem to be rare around here this year.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! :D

Good collection of fur Chief!

I had to work on Friday. I took the .22 mag out today looking for turkey. I had a chance a nice gobbler but it saw me before I saw it.

My traps are still empty. Rifle deer season begins on Monday so I don't plan on setting any more until the 2 week season is done.
