I saw that movie when it first came out. But recetly was discussing it with a native
American friend of mine.
He tells me that the scene were Harris has his chest pierced, that the reason it looks
So real is because Harris actually Went through the ceremony and DID have his chest pierced. Im watching it now on vhs from my local library.
Hollywood wanted real Native Americans to perticipate with him but the. Nas said the participating nas had to be contraries, who do all things backwards.
I enjoy watching these old movies because i know enough about
Traditional na time period clothing that i can pick out faults.
The absolute worse representation of NA clothing I've seen was
On DEATH VALLEY DAYS. Actually laughable.
I ways look at the leather... Is it brain tanned? Or fact9ry tanned ?
One common mistake are blan(ets. Especially the white blanket with different
Colored stripes at each end. Ive heard it refered to as a RAINBOW. They were reservation period and later. . . Msg
Doc, i liked that 12 better than six.
