Got word late this afternoon that Jack my brother in-law has not returned from his trap line. He was due in today. Called a few trappers in the Ignace area to see if they could help. Gave me the cell number of the outfitter that is half mile from his cabin. They had seen him yesterday but not today. They went to check to see if he was at his cabin and was not. Last tracks they seen was his ski-doo tracks headed east. Police have been notified and are sending a search and rescue team to the area. The camp owner has refueled his sled and has got his winter survival gear on board and will follow Jacks tracks. Now we sit and wait. Temps are cool with snow and high winds.

Man that is awful news about Jack! Just think, that's where he was heading when he left you house on Saturday. Please keep us updated on what you find out.

Good news, they found Jack. Seems his snow machine went through a swamp and could not get out. He had walked 8 miles till he could no longer walk. Built a fire and stayed put. He was still 7 miles away from his cabin when they found him. Cold and hungry. They said he was happy to see those snow machine lights coming. Thanks everyone for your prayers and thoughts.

Great to hear it ended up as an "adventure" worth remembering instead of a tragedy. Probably too expensive but does anyone use satellite phones up there?? Can probably pick one up via military surplus or such. They can call from any where...

That is great news Wolf!!! Prayers answered. Glad Ol' Jack kept his senses about himself and that the other trappers knew to go look for him. That would be an ordeal for a youngster and so I know it was a trial for him at 67. So glad he is out safe.
