A petition to make whiskey making in small amounts the same as beer and wine. Any help on gettin enough names to make this petition public would be appreciated.

Nah. Im the one that started this petition and the gubment dont give two hoots about me. :--D. I dont know if it will make a difference but i think if somebody wants to make a little liquor for themselves why couldnt it be the same as makin some wine at home. Plenty of info out there to learn how to do it safe.

Theres another one on milehidistilling.com. this is a link for it. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/Legali ... istilling/

I can appreciate what you are doing but I'm thinking a Canadian signature may not carry much more weight than a gnats[behind]. Only problem I see with a little is one step can lead to a thousand miles.

I hope im wrong but the way i understand it distilling any alcohol for your own drinking is illegal nationwide. Even distilling for fuel purposes requires a federal permit and BATF inspections.

Friend of my dad looked into this not too long ago. If I remember correctly, he said the Florida law states it is illegal to possess any components of a still (copper pipe, barrel/vat/tank, yeast/mix, etc) with intent to distill. So if you were to have some copper pipe laying around, and word got out that you were thinking of doing even a little home brewing, you could be charged :--? :?

A few weeks ago a man's property was raided by both local and Federal law enforcement members because he was suspected of having "equipment" for the distillation of alcohol. He was found to have such equipment....but after his arrest and release and lots of attention, it was also stated that he had made applications thru all the proper channels to have a mini-distillery and was just waiting for authorization to put it all together on some property downtown. So just storing the equipment until "THEY" give you permission seems to be against the law!

I'm 99% sure Missouri is the only state that allows you to make it for your own use. I believe it is 200 gallons per year per adult in the household!! Who do they think is going to drink that much??? LOL

It is even illegal to have a still in Arkansas unless you have the ethanol permit.
