Hello to all here got a question for the older crowd. When in life did you start looking back on life thinking dang i sure would have done some things different? I think i just hit mine today. Looking back i sure would change some things. I just look at my son and hope the he makes some good decisions while he grows up. I think you can only teach them so much. My step daughter is 15 getting ready to turn 16 in a bit, kids never seem to stop amazing me!

a lot of those "what if i'd have" pertain to my for two years now ex-wife

Tomorrow my youngest son turns 35, he is the middle child. They range from 42 thru 23, interesting things happen over the years, try to cling to the best and let go of the rest.

Never dwell on the past cause it's done with. If I worried about what every turn in the road I took yesterday I wouldn't have time to plan for tomorrow.

Many years ago, after some of lifes experiences, I was forced to develop the philosophy that whatever you do it is wrong. You can't predict the future and the old saying that hind sight is 20-20 just isn't true. Just too many variables in life to say that anything would have been different. You try to do what you know is right and stand ready for the consequences. You often second guess yourself but with all the other things that can affect your decision you really just don't know if another way would have been better. You do the best you can and hopefully find solice in that. More than anything your faith in God can get you through. Nice to have someone you can ALWAYS depend on.

I always look at it this way. As I get older, I get wiser, therefore I cannot make the same decisions now that I once made when I was younger. Times change as do circumstances, so the same criteria does not now exist. As trappintime said, do not waste time dwelling on the past, you have the present and future to worry about. :P

You learn lessons for the future by your experiences from the past. I have some regrets from raising my kids that I wish I had done differently, but that don't mean that it is too late to pass the lesson on. Although that lesson may fall upon deaf ears for a while. :x God doesn't ever give you more than you can handle, and you have what you have for a reason! Obviously He thought you were up to the task.
