Post subject:  K-9 /coon board measurements

Greetings

So, I'm getting set up for K-9's with limited funds and thus plan on making my own stretchers for wood. Can I get some detailed plans anywhere, I've found general dimensions like length and width but am wondering about how far down from the nose the 'shoulders' would start.

OK - I surfed this site and found the link for the fur handling manual and boad sizes.

I see that they suggest using box nails on beaver boards - I was thinking about using the metal push-pins, but read that a beaver hide might shrink up to 2", now I'm thinking that push-pins wouldn't hold up to that. Any thoughts?

What do you mean by box nails? I use the steel push pins from the trapper suppliers and have never had a problem with them pulling out but remember you will be putting a lot of them in a hide.

I also saw where a guy used a heavy duty staple gun on beaver and other animals.
