I`m from KS. 1 yote, 1 coon, 1 grinner (turned him loose) Started late, I tend to not get excited and rush things so I`ll make a good start next season.

Trapping is for my/my boys enjoyment, we get what we get and have a good time.

Ok here we go... Let me think.. My coon count is over 70 but not over 90.. Ha sorry guys, I went into bobcat mode and quit counting. Bobcats are 9 and one got eaten. Rats-got 2 while coon trapping. Fox- 2. Grinner- don't ask. 3 coyotes- one shot 2 trapped and one was mangy.
Something like that.

Native of Topeka living in Galena for the next 2 years. haven't trapped in 15 years started this past season my son wanted to learn to trap. 4 beaver, 1 coon, 8 possum, 1 rabbit and one young dumb hawk turned him loose no real damage mostly pissed and scared.

:D I see there are at least a couple of Holton guys. I grew up there, many moons ago, and got my trapping start during the last fur boom, mid to late 70's. Now I'm out here in southwest Kansas. I miss the water, but not the humidity or chiggers.

I won't go into my end of year fur report from last year. I'm still disgusted with the glacier that formed out here right after Christmas, and put a huge damper on my trapping.

Do most of you guys sell whole critters/furs to a local fur buyer, sell at state KFH auction, or send to Canadian auction or what? I don't really have much for local fur buyer out this way, so I send up to NAFA, through their agent in Valley Falls. :)

I’m from KS, from being the operative word. Now living in the peoples republic of Colorado, no trapping allowed out this way, have to laugh though all the city folk are crying about the coyote “problem”. Seams like the coyote has discovered is easier to snatch young feefee off the lead as it’s being walked then it is to catch wild game. Must be a dozen reported attacks by coyotes this year, funny stuff.

Anyhow grew up not far from KScatman, Arcadia.

I am "from" the Ft. Scott area, now live in Paola. I wish I had started trapping when I lived in SE Ks or Hays even, but that didn't happen. Bygones. I had a decent season: trapped 14 coons, 24 grinners I think, 3 stinkers and 3 beaver and grateful for every one of 'em. Didn't take long for me to figure out that fur in the trap is better than no fur in the trap! Welcome to the site to all those who I haven't met on here yet. I don't get to this part of the forum much and see that there are a bunch of new neighbors on the site.

Well tomorrow is the big day, I don't suppose I will set any tomorrow though, I might go on a quick coon hunt tomorrow night.

Been working out in my fur room all day getting re-organized.
