Homemade swivels
Submitted by Paul P. from West Virginia

You can make swivels out of 3/4" black gas pipe and 16D framing nails.

Cut the pipe into 1/2" pieces and drill a 5/32" hole through both sides. Cut the nails to 1-1/2" and bend slightly 3/8" from the head. Insert the nail from inside the piece of pipe and out of one hole. Bend the nail into a hook. Do the same in the other hole. These are good for traps or for snares. They're a lot cheaper than commercial swivels and work just as well... Here is a picture I've drawn to help with the explanation.
