Opera goers donned evening gowns and tuxedos to attend the Metropolitan Opera's season opener this week, but they were greeted by a disgusting anti-fur demonstration. Animal activists rushed ticket holders and waved bloody fox carcasses in front of them. A spokesman from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) said the protest was to "confront opera attendees, who are notorious fur-wearers, with the gory reality of where fur coats come from." "PETA and other animal rights groups cannot accept that people have the right to make their own choices about the clothes they wear, the food they eat and the pastimes they enjoy," said U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance Bud Pidgeon. "This again shows that animal rights fanatics will go to outrageous extremes to force their opinions on others." CopyrightÓ U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance- www.ussportsmen.org
