Actress records holiday album to benefit animal rights group (12/18/2002)

With the holiday season upon us, the sound of traditional carols and music fill people’s homes. But one holiday CD is being sold to benefit an animal rights group that is working to end America’s traditional outdoor heritage.

Julia Barr, the actress who plays “Brooke English” on ABC’s daytime drama All My Children, produced and released a new holiday CD, From Our House…To Yours. The Fund for Animals, a national animal rights organization, sells the CD exclusively and 100 percent of the funds go to the anti-hunting group.

The Fund for Animals has a history of anti-sportsman actions. It has spread anti-hunting rhetoric in Wisconsin and Michigan to prevent sportsmen from being permitted to enjoy dove hunting seasons in the states; called for an end to all swan hunting in the western United States; helped finance a campaign in Washington that banned trapping in the state; called for over 2,000 newspaper editors and the presidents of several sports cable channels to stop promoting hunting and trapping; and is involved in a lawsuit to halt Americans’ ability to hunt an Asian wild sheep.

Barr has been an active member and spokesperson for The Fund since 1999.
