Rhode Island anti-trapping bill does not pass legislature (10/17/2001)

Rhode Island-

A senate bill that would have put Rhode Island's trapping heritage at risk can carry over into next year's legislative session.

Senator Robert T. Kells (D-Providence) introduced Senate Bill 113 to ban the use of steel-jawed leghold traps for the trapping of any animal. The bill had not become law when the legislative session ended on July 12, but it can carry over into the next session.
