I have a pond which I have been trapping for 2 years. I usually catch over 20 rats. This year the water level is high and the cat tails are really thick. I have not been able to find any runs or den holes. I put out two float sets baited with apples but they are untouched. There are no rat houses yet. Does anyone have any ideas on what might work?

Are you sure you did not overtrap the pond? You may have trapped it out.

The high water could have caused the young to die in the den or it could be trapped out like stated above
