Having a good year with my recurve...one red fox (called in with rodent squeals)...one coyote (called in with pup distress)....two doe and a buck.....Nothing beats the rush of hunting with traditional archery gear..especially predator calling from the ground with traditional gear!

Thats amazing! Nice animals all around. what type of set-up are you using to hunt the fox and yotes? morning or eve?these type of pictures truly inspire me to work harder at reaching my own hunting and trapping goals.

I like hunting the morning much better than evening but both are good. If your hunting the evenings i like the "food" sounds....rabbit squeals, rodent squels, etc. because they are just getting up and looking to feed....in the morning (after they have been feeding all night)...i like using pup distress calls to play on their emotions...this seems to work well for me.

Great job Fishstick! What kind of bow are you shooting? How many lbs? Woodies or aluminum or carbon?

the bow is a Martin Hunter Recurve 60 pounds at 28 inch draw but i draw it 31 inches so im shooting about 66 pound draw weight...i shoot port orford cedar arrows spined at 80 pound plus and weighing about 470 grains with a 160 grain two blade magnus broadhead...it is setup for IMPACT

Ahh so there are some other trad guys on here! Great shooting. Havent ever gotten a shot on some predators, but I am sure that there will be some arrow flingin when I do. Great job!

I own that bow too! Great bow, really quick, mine is in 70#'s!

Nice Job. I got a shot a a BIG coyote last bow season. Ended up getting a 6 inch maple tree about 15 feet up.

17 lb tom turkey - Remington Express 20 ga #4 at 10 yards.

Too funny Nelson, some folks won't admit their "errors". I shot at a deer that was walking in the river bottoms one day, shot at him 4 times and he just kept on walking. I figured it was just a miracle until I walked down there and saw I had hit 4 different trees. All had grey trunks and I suppose he was on the opposite side! I just named him WOODY and changed stands and got him a few days later.

A friend of mine has a similar story only he emptied his shot gun at a deer. Later when he investigated what happened, he found where each shot hit a tree along the path the deer took as it walked in a circle around his stand. Unlike you, he did NOT get him a few days later.
