I trapped this beaver (yearling or kit??) in far Northern Minnesota. I haven't had a chance to weigh it yet, but my guess is 35-40 lbs.

thats just a kit. our kits dont get that big, only like 15-20 lbs.

Well, I was off a tad, but the beaver sure felt heavy when I stretched it out for a shot.

The critter was just shy of 30 lbs.

Yep people usually guess heavy. One of my way's of making spare pocket money is to bet with guy's on the weight of game.

The longer you got to pack beavers the more they weight and they have bin known to put on a few pounds just on the hike out from the pond lol :lol:
