hunting the river before it flows into the lake. Wild rice heaven.

We set up on small island right in the middle of river. The geese were flying as well but none flew in our direction. Took me about 6 or 7 shots before i started hitting, little rusty after all these years. We downed 12 ducks but lost 3. So 9 to bring home.

was a good day on the water.

Poor shoot this week end. First nations are running the rivers for moose and screwed up the hunt on the river. My chum went 6 miles west of us and hunted the lake and limited out on mallards. So time to change up. Will go this week for trout in morning then hit the lake for evening shoot. My nephew did that on Saturday before he tagged up with us to duck hunt. Thinking some smoked trout would taste good right now .
