I planted some Beefsteak Tomato seeds today. Only 10 more weeks until they will be safe to plant outside!

I started mine today too Rick. Started digging a drainage ditch and used the dirt to start a raised bed. Haven't started seeds yet. Good luck with yours.

Do you guys prefer heirloom or hybrid seeds? Over the counter here hybrids are the only ones available. As a kid we saved seeds each yeah but that seems to be a thing of the past. My fiancée has never gardened or anything. Should be interesting. Her family already thinks im a redneck hillbilly lol. I started drawing the garden out. They just stared. Theyre idea of gardening and produce and getting out in the country is a farmers market in Joliet lol..

Back, we use some of all types. We keep some and that is nice but you gotta watch the fertility of them as I've seen where age can make some useless as me. Gardening is not all fun but the rewards are tremendous.

Ive had a garden of one type or another since i was very young. We had a truck farm at one time with a small orchard. Gardening, around here anyway, seems to be going out of favor. I love canning and making jams etc. my fiancée didnt know how green beans grew. She thought it was a small tree. Same with cucumbers, lol.. Education on the way.

That's like a badge of honor aint it?
As usual, I'm behind. I wanted to plant taters tomorrow but I can't see it happening.

Too cold for planting here. Still some frozen ground(again). Still trying to lay the garden out.
