My Wife got one for the late trapping season. End of November, Just when Marten, Fisher and Bobcat open. It will be sort of tough for an elderly couple. AKA, a pair of Geezers.

Oh David I'm sure an ole timer like your self has many tricks up his sleeve to get one. Best of luck to you both and looking forward to some pics.

I did not win one this year. When you get yours, I know of a guy in Canada. He does a little bit of trapping up there, but he loves to skin wolves. If you send yours to him, he will skin it up quick for you. His name is something like wulf7756 or welf9987....something like that. Anyway, he LOVES skinning wolves.

Our season .can end almost instantly. I will do my best, but because our Wolves really don't have any fur value, I have to concentrate on animals that I can send to NAFA. On top of that, we have to deal with mange. You don't really think I would claim a mangy one do you ?

There sure are plenty of mangy ones around. I did see a couple near our house a few weeks ago that looked nice. Dave, it will be interesting to see how this season turns out. I heard they didnt get nearly as many applicants this year. On another topic regarding wolves, did you happen to hear about that wolf symposium from a few days ago? I didnt catch if it was in the cities or Duluth, but the antis arent going to be too happy about the conclusions the wolf "experts" presenting regarding hunting. Not like facts ever matter to an anti, but it is still heartening to hear.

What were the facts?

The Wolf symposium is in Duluth. As far as facts, I can give you a line of BS myself. The people in charge need to tell the anti groups to buzz off and manage like they claim they do. throw the politics out.

Imagine the smile on the anti's faces when hunting in MN is no longer allowed because the wolves have diminished the deer numbers to the point they cannot sustain a season. I do not know if it can happen to the deer but it has happened to the moose. I call BS on the brain worms and weather. The wolves have taken more moose than a parasite.

That it would be crazy not to manage wolf numbers through hunting.

Did not get a wolf tag.

Wolf numbers are up, way up; moose numbers are down, way down. No rocket science required.

How are Y'all sure the DNR actually does an "honest" drawing of names for the wolves?

I'm not real sure, I find it funny there should be no way you should get drawn 2 years in a row while everyone else waits till the next year when you got one the year before. I'm happy for him just erks me
