Ohio has Bobcats listed on the "threatened" list and illegal to kill. I have released two in the last 5 days from my traps set for coon. Anyone know of a bait that will attract a coon and let a bobcat walk on by? The first was on a shellfish bait with a little fish oil scattered around. After releasing the first very unhappy cat I switched to a marsh mellow and syrup combination. All this done was generate a bigger and even more unhappy cat to fight and release unharmed. Both were dirt hole sets using Duke 1.5's. Hopefully the weather here will turn and stay cold so the attack on the coyotes can begin.

Thanks

Hopefully we will have a legal season on these guys in the near future. Some guys in this area have 3 or more in a pic from trail cams. If everyone reports these sightings to odnr for confirmation we could justify a season. In the mean time it looks like it's buy Duke DPs or fight cats every trip

This is a strange problem to have, but DPs may be the only option?
