well the way i figure it. its about 6 pounds. but its the biggest possum i have seen so far this year down at school. ino that at home they could get as big as 10-12 pounds.

Trapping season starts here tommorow, and we have tons of possums and skunks. I'll see what I can do and as soon as I catch a big possum or a skunk I'll let you know.

Got picks of a skunk on the trail cam. Well, most were of his tail right in the cameras face. I had thrown a carton of old heavey cream (like for cooking) out and that skunk was ALL over it.

Some of the dumpster diving possums can grow quite large....and I can assure you that they get just as ugly as they do large.

Hint for those who have just begun to deal with possums....they will bite! Don't be fooled by the stories of them "playing possum", it is true they will go comatose, but more often than not, they will attempt to snap at you like most other animals trying to get free from captivity.

And if they ARE playing possum, DO NOT think you can just reach down and pick them up. You'll get bit. Image

LG, for a half dozen snares you need to get sks to be sure and skin the tail too! I hope the possum he is talking about has been frozen...I think he shot it about a week ago. :x

I am doing the math and figure some of us can just about shut you down at 6 snares for each possum we can get to you. I saw a large black one wobble across the road last night as I was coming out of the woods. A possum is a lot like a camel---they both look like they were put together by some sort of a committee---nothing seems to fit.
