I am looking for a Remington "Model Four" .243. Does anyone have one for sale or does anyone know anyone who has one?

If you have a Gander Mtn. near you try giving them a look see. The one here usually has a good selection of used firearms. I'm looking for a .243 as well, I just don't have the money. I've come real close to putting one on layaway at Gander several times.

They haven't made the model four since the early 1980's. We do have a Gander Mountain, and they've never even heard of it. I've been looking for about 10 years; I'll keep looking and someday I'll find it.

Try checking flea markets and the such. If I come across one then I'll be sure to pick it up and you can repay me for it.

If you ever find one let me know. There not particularly expensive guns. I've seen several on Gunbroker.com usually in 30-06 or 270 but no 243's yet. They've sold as low as $250 up to $400. They are a semi-auto with a bottom loading clip. I think the model 700 is similar. The reason I'm having such a hard time finding one is because in Ohio you can not use a rifle for deer, so the selection of older rifles is pretty skimpy.

What's wrong with the Remington 750? It sounds like the same gun to me. Here's a link to it:

I agree with benelli7979. Whittaker's is the place to look. They have somthing new just about everyday. On their web site it gives a phone number. Just give them a call and see if they have one. If they don't they can probably get one in within a couple weeks for you.

I've monitored GunBroker for about three years now. I get an e-mail everytime a model four is listed. I've seen them in 30-06 and .2 70, but not in .243.

Tha model 750 is similar, but the stock and finish is a little nicer on the model four.
