I am looking to build a few cage traps. Primarily for bobcat trapping so they will probably be tall and fairly narrow. Does anyone know a good source for heavy wire? I have checked at the local hardware stores and most do not stock 14ga hardware cloth.

The last welded wire I bought to make wire traps out of was purchased at Tractor Supply. I am comfortable that any wire that will hold a coon will hold a bobcat.

http://www.Critter-cages.com carries a pretty decent variety. You probably want a minimum of 16 ga. I get wire from them when I do skunk exclusions. There customer service is only so-so though.

I have ordered 100 foot rolls of 2x1 14 ga. from Aubuchon Hardware before.
They have a large verity and gauges available.
