I'm looking for some Fox / Coon wood stretchers with belly wedges. I have wire but the fur market seems to like wood stretched better these days.

If a person can find a quality softer wood that can be pretty easily pinned for cheap enough, it would be worth it to do, it's just hard to find a quality wood for that cheap. Really it's hard to beat the prices of what you can buy them for and still get the quality of stretchers.

I happen to find a bunch of "cut offs" of cypress at a fence building company years ago and made mine from that. Cypress is much softer than plywood.

Check the cedar fence boards at hardhware stores. Too narrow for some but good for others.
