I have been setting a few goals for trapping season i thought i would share and if any of Y'all would like to share yours too I would be interested in seeing them.

I am hoping for at least 75 coon, 50 beaver, 10 rats (hope for more), 3 yotes, 1 mink, 1 otter. Fox and bobcats you would be good bonuses. I believe i would be able to catch some reds but i dont really target them. I would love to catch a grey or bobcat this season but that would probably be luck. No goal for skunks and grinners ;--)

My goals keep changing with the sign. My main goal is to get better at putting up fur. The rest for now will be 10 rats, 1 mink, 1 cat, 1 fox. The mink, cat, and fox should be better than those numbers though. I guess for coons 75, otter 10, 25 beaver, and 1 skunk...lol...i need one to tan for the wall.

Some of my Goals or Wants are:

1)not to have any twist outs or chew outs
2)not to catch any dogs
3)not to injure myself while out on the lines and alone
4)not to accidentally get in a Conibear
5)not to have any equipment stolen or messed with
6)to catch no skunks
7)to catch a bobcat and an otter (my two favorite target animals)
8)to catch some coons
9)snare and trap some coyotes
10)to have my first snared fox.

I'm not sure what our goals are exactly for this next season, as I will have very limited trapping time because of school until Thanksgiving and Christmas break. I'd guess 70 or so coons, 50 rats, we catch about 20 possums each year, 7 or so fox, 5 bobcats, 5 yotes if we can weed through all the bad ones, 4-6 otters depending on if wyatt is gonna try, maybe 10 skunks or so 'cuz I like 'em, I can do without any beaver, and any mink would be a bonus but we haven't caught any yet lol.

I really like Swamps goals. Mainly the safety aspect of it, and no pole cats.......... I would love to catch 20 or more otter, and 10 cats. Doubt I will be able to do either, but a good goal none the less. 50 coons would be good, to cover the gas, and how I would love to find rats again. Beaver just don't bring enough, but may just catch them for castor for lure. I hope everyone does have a safe and productive season.
