Raccoons are all over the place here in northern Somerset county. And they are huge! My first catch this year was a massive 29.5 pound male with no neck. I might need the coyote stretcher for this one.

i didnt even put a coon trap out this year. i weighed the options of fuel vs. fur price and i figured that if i caught 32 like i didnt last year in the same amount of time i would burn 4 times the cost of fuel than what the fur is worth plus my drive time to work and such. i wish i could have but i couldnt justify it. last year we me and Pops biggest was 26 pounds. but alot of them were small ones. just never did find the big ones. i cant wait for rat season to get here! its me and my dads "bonding" time lol usually we trap 6 weeks but we decided 1 week of rat trappin would do us some good. just hope the ice holds off

Yea, I wasn't planning on coon either Moo. I caught this one in a trap set for coyote on the edge of a field a good 1/4 mile from any water. They say trap high ridges for big coon, I guess they're right. Anyway, good luck this Sunday settting out the rat traps. I'll be setting some too but muskrat are hard to come by in the mountainess section of PA. I found a place for a few but if prices are anything like last year there will be lots of competition and the rats will be trapped out in no time.

we mostly do damage control in peoples ponds, golf coarses, and some public land swamps that i run in chest waders or in this years case a canoe. me and my dad run it and we figure it out to be around 70 traps out at any one point. our goal is 60. last year was 50 and we got 52. so more traps means more rats... i hope lol
