is it legal to use feathers as an attractor while trapping? i know the law about being visible from the air but do feathers constitute bait? i dont like gray areas.

Luckly we don't have many trapping regs here. Dumbest 1 I know of is that now we can't use footholds or body grippers out side the comercial harvest season.

I know what your talkin about Grouse. ours wrot my dad up for having a feather in his set even though someone moved in on him and put it there. i was with him when he set it and i know there was no feather there. then they got a "annominous" call saying that there was a set with a feather in it. wonder who called sayin that it was there. it was the guy who was trespassin and massin with the sets. We took it to court and won. ill tell you what that warden was mader than a redneck who foudn out the closed all the Cope and Skoal factorys. lol i know id be mad

YES, you can hang a bucket of bait from a tree. The bait inside the bucket can NOT be visible from the air. All you have to do is cover it up so the birds can not see it, be sure the covering can not come off.
