Post subject:  dp dye and wax

I am new to this site but not new to trapping.

I did however just purchase a dozen Diablo dp's from pcs outdoors to toss into my arsenal. Since I have never used a dp I was wondering if I needed to dye and wax them like I do my duke 1 1/2 coil springs. I have heard of some guys just painting them, and other guys just using them as is right out of the box. I just didn't know what would be the best thing for me to do.

When I wash the oil/grease off my coil springs, i found that what worked best for me was just putting them in the dishwasher with some dishwasher detergent and maybe 1 1/2 - 2 cups of distilled whit vinegar in the bottom of the dishwasher, and running on heavenly wash. By the time the dry cycle is complete they already have a nice coating of rust for dyeing.

I tried this with my dps. A couple times. They just won't seem to rust at all.

Any advice, ideas or direction would really be appreciated.
