looking for the best caller for the money I live in alaska and going mainly for redfo*, may use on coyote and fo* in pa as -ell. I am hunting open clear cuts, and maybe some forrest edges. Don't have alot of money to spend, but just looking for some input, also curious on recommendations on the actual calling. I never did anything other then use a mouth call hare in distress and a mouse squicker. Thanks for your time guys

I got a medium priced Fox Pro. Works very good. They also have model for under 200 bucks that looks good. I hve cheaper e-callers too but I am going to give the FP a good run to see what it can do for me. Only had a chance to call around town. Hard to get coyotes to come in around town. Have had them come to within a couple hundred yards in the woods and bark at me. Probably I messed up the stand, I am only starting with calls. I have a lot to learn.

Best caller for the money to me would be decent $15 mouth call with a raspy rabbit in distress sound. Next would be a custom built open reed that can make all the howls and distress sounds. I will not use an ecaller but that is personal preference[I won't use anything electronic in my hunting]. What I've heard is Foxpro makes a decent enough caller but because of their marketing strategies and their willingness to have [Boy do we need a word here that could past the filter] on their staff, I wouldn't buy one for free  .

You can't buy one for free. If it's free, it's not for sale. 8|-

I have 5 or 6 mouth calls and use them a lot. There is more to calling than just going out into the woods and making noise. I have called many times but no customers. I guess it's like trapping, set on sign, call on sign. I am not going to give up trying until i learn how. Then I won't be trying anymore, I'll be doing.

I like my e calls and mouth calls. Love the predator hunting. Trying for a bear again this year when the season rolls around.

i guess the reason i am after possibly a e-caller, is because i want the sound away from me, just incase there is a brown bear around that is awake, they will be drown to the sound instead of me :--o :--o :--o The buggers are horrible here... Its really touchy for predator calling and trapping, but i am not giving up a fun hobby, just cause of stupid bears lol. Altho maybe i shouldn't start this predator hunting!! I already have enough expensive hobbies!! Duck and deer hunting, trapping, all sorts of fishing, dare i add another hobby lol!

Hobbies, did someone say hobbies?

How about this:
Trapping
Deer Hunting
Bear Hunting
Predator Hunting
Turkey Hunting
Flying Radio control airplanes
Flyiing Radio control helicopters
Archery
Amateur Radio
Guns
Computing
Video production
Outdoor education instruction

Each with it's own set of toys and expenses. Thank god I have an understanding and supportive wife. :D
