With PA's archery season closing up tomorrow it is time for me to get on some fur. The traps are all ready to go and so am I!

I was talking with a guy here at work telling I was gonna trap this year and he ups and just about begs me to come trap on his families farm :--D I guess the coon have gotten so bad that they actually say that they lost 25% of their corn to the raccoons this year. Now I don't know if that's a straight fact or embellished a bit but sounds like there are plenty of coon to be caught out there. He told me that they actually have several "highways" they have been traveling. I can't wait to get out there and get on it! From what I've saw they are just getting prime now anyhow so I say it's on!. Oh yeah I guess they have a pretty good muskrat pop as well  And the kicker is that this property is less than 5 miles from my house :D

Well set a day early. I put out 8 sets, all for coon. This was the first time I've ever been on the property but it looks pretty good. I walk down to the stream in the valley and this is the first thing I see........

Tracks every where to boot. So this was #1. :P I set 2 more in the creek.......

The other 5 are all land sets back in on the edge of some pines bordering a corn field. Land owner said there were coon trails and by golly there is, lol. I didn't take any pics of the land sets but hopefully tomorrow morning I'll have some fur to show ya :--D

The water sets are all baited with fish and fur bait and some salmon oil. All but two land sets are baited with my own concoction of peanut butter, honey, maple syrup, and corn all mixed together. I put the fur and fish on one of them for giggles. The other I went way different. My little brother was making some cranberry wine the other day and had juiced a bunch of berries. Well he had all the pulp so I mixed that with marshmallows. We'll see if it works.

Nice looking territory, I know I'd like to have places like that to string some steel, best of luck.

Crappy weather has slowed it down though. I moved all my sets yesterday day but had nothing this morning other than 2 tripped traps.
