Hey guys I have been looking around for a site to talk trapping and this is the best that i have found so I went ahead and settled in..
I am a kansas boy in my senior year of High school and have been living the life and trapping my buns off.

Mink- 0
Coon-78- between me and dad- around 120 give or take a few
Bobcat-2 working on getting some more.
coyote-4- one called in
beaver- 12
red fox- 3
misc- alot!
my hand- one miss.

Well I try to catch as many as I can early when it isn't frozen.
I caught most of them in the creeks and ditches. Now I am getting all the coon by not really targeting them and just getting them in other sets ment for bobcats.

man you guys are close now i know where all the critters went...lol as far as getting coon this time of i still am too so its not to cold for them. i have been both places where you kansas guys are. not far at all

i catch all of my coon this time of year in bob cat sets like live traps, cubbie sets and bated brush with snares.. I use duck carcases and beaver. it works well. The weather is warming up here these past few days. And before I ment to say that my dad has caught the 12 beaver... Sorry bout that.

sorry this is sideways and so large... I will fix that.. thanx for the rotate advice I did not see that on the bucket at first but I just did.
33lbs cat uder the bridge.. you can see the brush from a flood there behind me.. I just made a whole in the brush earlier this fall so they could get used to walking in it and got this guy a few days ago. I missed an even bigger cat in the same set this morning. well bigger according to the track[/img]

I have been in Oletha lots of times.. If you can get any permission to trap on the city borders it would be a great spot to start.. check out all the culverts you can that is the best thing you can do to get started.. Good luck I will help you anyway I can feel free to ask any questions.

I'm from Olathe and I have found out that the best way to do it is to find the little pockets of land just beyond the city limits and get permission. If you have any questions that I can try to help you but this is only my second year and so I am still learning.
