use lanolin in some lure/bait making. I buy 90% of my lures and baits, but want to tinker some. I bought a gallon of lanolin and would like some ideas incorporating its use in beaver castor, and other lures or baitmaking possibilities. Thanks WTA

I have never used it. I am still in the old world and use vaseline. Here's my recipe for k9 bait: I grind up 6 medium sized dried beaver castors, 2 beaver sac oil contents, add 10 drops good fox gland , 3 freshly trapped and ground mice out of my basement, and enough vaseline to make a paste. Works good in fall and around beaver ponds all times. In real cold sub zero add 3 drops pure skunk quill.

lanoin is a grease sheep produce to keep the wool fibres from splitting and then them freezing. when ever we shear them i get the job of taking the fleeces and putting them into the bags and stomping it down all this makes the hands very very soft and any thorns or stuff to give ya a cut or scrape will and it stings for weeks   lol and the link keith posted is very informative
