going out today again pulled from one area with lots of sign but too dangerous in this cold as I am worried about ice jambs and the like . besides I don't know what happened to my motor It killed and couldn't get it started thank god for reminding me to bring a heater and sending me up stream and not down. took about 4 hours to get back and lots of oaring. gave me lots of time to chat with my daughter too she likes to do that stuff with me. besides she can brag to some of the boys who think there all about outdoors. there are none like her at her school. im sure they are mesmerized at the stories she tells.forgot what I was even going to reply to oh ya mink there is some open water think I will set it today and some rat houses too. Im hoping that the mink are running the small spring that goes into an old beaver pond that some one trapped out wish they would leave some as I believe that they trapped it with out permission its a wma open to hunting and you need a permit dnr would only authorize a specific amount not all.

I was talking to a guy that bought furs and i guess his buddy is a good mink trapper, well he told him a secret on catching alot of them and the buyer told me to, he told me that his buddy would take a plain old coffee can and take a mirror and mount in the back and put it along the bank so when the mink looks in the coffee can since they love looking in holes, he sees a reflection of himself thinking its another mink so since males are territoral they fight, so when he runs after his reflection in the can, he steps in the trap. When i heard this, i was blown away, how can anyone think of something so simple yet so deadly. it sounded like a good idea to me but im doing really good on the blind sets since we have a good population of mink and muskrats around here
